This might not be the most visually appealing gadget, but there are a couple of very good reasons the Spykee Vox made it to the list. An easily programmable robot, the Vox can double up as your iPod dock. The more interesting part, however, is that the Vox comes with an LCD screen and not only follows voice commands but ‘reacts’ accordingly. It has two distinct characters - a hero and a villain - and will emote and dance along to the music streaming from your iPod. The built-in infrared sensors and obstacle detectors help it move around freely in your room. Set it up as your funky alarm clock and if you tick it off by not waking up on time, the villain in it will probably ‘fight, bomb and shoot’ you to shreds
